I bought a new notebook comp. and I want to get my itunes library off of my old notebook HD. Can I connect the two computers with a usb cable and transfer files between the Hard drives? Thanks.

you need a special cable called a "host to host" cable. the simplest way is probably by using a "crossover" network cable between the two.

You can make a crossover cable if you're lazy (like me). I can't remember exactly how to do it but you have to cut/solder each pair of wire opposite. There are 4 pairs of wires (8 total wires) in a CAT5 network cable. So, say you have an orange/white pair...you would cut that and solder orange to white and white to orange.

I'll try to dig up the thread I made and get you a site that shows you how to do it. :)

You can connect 2 computers together using Firewire cable. Windows XP will show them as a network connect and you can go from there.
Connecting to computer together with USB will result in an electrical short.
