k, so im running an AMD athlon X2, a pqi 1gb mem, 320gb seagate HD, XFX 7600 vid card, Gygabite MB, and a sony cd/dvd rom drive

alright when i put the windows Xp pro into my comp and it gets to the format hard drive screen alright, but after that, when it starts copying files, the screen just blacks out. but everything in the computer itself are still working. i was wondering if it is a component that is doing this, ive tried 3 different cd's and files of XP so im pretty sure its not a software problem, and ive set all the bios to have cd-rom boot first. then when i restart it thinking it might have worked and take the cd out, it says the NTLDR is missing...im in need of some help, pretty freakin badly

Sounds like a hard drive or CD problem.

Try another hard drive if possible, just a small one under 10 GB.

Also try another CD, and use your key.
