7900GS vs. 7900GT

I love my 7900 GT.

Plays anything I throw at it, at 1680 1050 resolution.


I volt modded it to and it overclockes great.

1.45 Vmod gives me 680/905 Clocks.


Awesome card.


Wont be upgrading till I need to.

It's not really fair to compare a lower card with a higher card because the lower card can overclock past it. I mean sure, the 7900GS is nice to overclock, but same can be said about 7900GT, I've also taken that baby quite far (I have the 512mb version, I took the core to 650 and stopped there because I couldn't overclock my memory that far due to inadequate cooling, so any more up would make little impact).

In the end you do pay for that little bit of difference between 7900GS and 7900GT - it just has a slightly stronger chip. Whether you think it's worth the price difference is another story. It's only $30'ish difference here, on an entire videocard that's probably just over 10%.

Ya I just got my evga 7900gs going about 4 days ago. I had a 6600 also, but it was a LE lol.

I will be overclocking when we get back from Mexico. Which is the 28.

I can play all source games maxed, cod2, and just about in coh when it works. But it seems in FEAR I will need to do some adjusments, just got the game yesterday so still messing with the settings.
