7900gs all the way. it can be overclocked well. mine plays all games i have, including fear, at high/ultra high settings.
Thats a big jump from a 7300 or 7600, i dout he can afford that otherwise he would have gave it in his options

7300gt beats 7600gs, and also the x1600 in some benches.

I faced the same choice, i picked 7300gt. Look up some benchmarks and you will see the difference. If your over clocking the 7300gt also makes the gap much larger, increase performance +30-35% (no the GS does not overclock as well as the 7300gt).

Make sure you get a ddr3 version though, and the 512mb i have is marginally better then the 256, so dont bother with that.

i just tested stock settings, 49.75 FPS with every setting maxed out on CS:Source Video Stress Test.

From experience, thats 6fps better then my x1600pro 512.

im gonna take alook at the 7300GT, im not getting 7900GS too expensive and i wont get a 512mb thats also to expensive plus would drain alot of power id assume. thx for ur replies

why does it cost more then? search newegg and im pretty sure 7300GT's 256mb cost more than 7600GS 256mb both PCI-E 16x

Rofl, how are you so sure, you haven't even looked.

7300GT - $70.

7600GS - $100.

Since when the heck do we measure performance by price anyways? That would mean that the $680 FX-62 is better than the $309 E6600. Which its not.
