I've tried both McAfee 2006 and Norton 2006 anti-virus. The problem is the resourse hogging. Is there anything out there anymore that uses minimal resourses?

I still have my Norton sysworks 2002 cd, and I thought that worked great on resourses. I'm thinkin of putting that back on...any sugg.?

I just want a basic running a/v that just watches for viruses with full protection. Is that possible now-a-days?
I tried reading reviews and such from the applications' sites, but thay all say the same thing about their own product.

I just don't need all the extras Mcafee or nortons has that runs 18 (seems like) processes at once. I have my own spyware checker and firewall. I know you can uninstall half of the featues in Mcafee, but there are still alot of processes running.

Any help on a minimal A/V product that works just as good as the "big guys" would be appreciated.
Tks.
