My hard drive screeches whenever I play any games, if any webpage is using flash, move large files, and when my system is booting up windows. My computer seems to move alot slower when this happens aswell.

...dying hard drive, what manufacturer is it? here's some tools to run depending on your make of hard drive.

maxtor powermax:

Seagate:

Western digital:

I think maxtor powermax will work with any make of hard drive and is one I use regularly, You should also run check disk via:

mycomputer, right click c: etc and choose properties, then tools and check then.

It should reboot unless your checking a 2nd partition of hard drive and will run check disk.

ok put maxtor powermax on a cd and run that at pc startup.

Also check the event viewer:

start>run and type eventvwr

then look under system and see if there are any errors mainly ones to do with NTFS.

Okay I ran maxtor and there weren't any errors, however when I exited the program and tried to boot up my computer it hanged for a while. I then turned off my computer and turned it on and got a message similiar to this "Dram is performing too tightly". I have gotten this several times in the past, mainly when I play a video game for a long time. There's one more problem now since I booted up my computer it has been making the loudest/highest pitched sound I have ever heard. It's giving me a huge migraine. Since I got my new graphics card last week it makes a high pitched sound whenever I log onto my computer after it's been idle for a while. It's never been like this before though. Jesus I think my head is about to explode. I'm gonna reboot.
