I have been trying to get an assembled for some time now. Please let me know as to what you think of a rig like this.

The first one is mine.

- Intel core 2 duo 2.4-GHz E6600 (Should I go with the E6700?)
- 320 GB HD (seagate 320gb sata II 7200.10)
- 1GB x 2 DDR2 800mhz. (DDR2 2GB G.Skill 800MHz PC6400 RAM Kit ZX)
- Geforce 7950 GT KO
- Nvidia Nforce 590 SLI MCP
- Antec True Power Trio 550W ATX12V Power Supply
- ASUS P5N32-SLI
- LG 16X DVD±RW Burner (GSA-H10A) - Black
- Case, PlusView II.

- Creative X-Fi Xtreme (added)

What do you guys think of this? : O

Thermaltake Shark Silver
PC Power & Cooling 510W/650W SLI PSU
P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe
Conroe E6700
Zalman 9500 Cooler w/ Arctic 5 Silver
2x 1GB Ballistix DDR2 800 PC6400 RAM for Dual Channel
BFGTech 512MB 7900GTX OC'ed
2x 400GB SATA II Seagates
2x DVD/RW LG Combo drives
Creative X-Fi
Logitech Z-5500 5.1

My budget is around 2K. I hope you guys can help me with this. Thanks! : D

dont get the e6700 its not worth it. you can easily oc an e6600 to the same speeds, so save your money.

for the price it owuld be to buy a 7900GTX you could easily pay a little more for the 8800GTS

Thank you fade2black2004! Ok then : D

- Intel core 2 duo 2.4-GHz E6600
- 320 GB HD (seagate 320gb sata II 7200.10)

What now? : P

I like that Shark case ALOT. If it wasnt so expensive i'd by one meself. I put together a rig a long *** time ago for someone with that case, it's got to be the best case ive ever used for cable management.

BTW as far as the PSU goes i'd suggest this one Thermaltake 700w

but that's just me :D

Thanks bobojuice.. But I kinda still prefer that one. : ppp

Anyone else? Or is this all good to go? xD

Btw how much do you guys think this should cost me, all in all? :D

- Intel core 2 duo 2.4-GHz E6600
- 320 GB HD (seagate 320gb sata II 7200.10)
- 1GB x 2 DDR2 800mhz. (DDR2 2GB G.Skill 800MHz PC6400 RAM Kit ZX)

i'd go with a different motherboard, the 590 isn't all that great imo. i'd go with the evga 680i. in all that should be somewhere around $1900 before any rebates and shipping?

Ok, so..

- Intel core 2 duo 2.4-GHz E6600
- 320 GB HD (seagate 320gb sata II 7200.10)

- LG 16X DVD±RW Burner (GSA-H10A) - Black
- Case, PlusView II.
- Creative X-Fi Xtreme

Thanks for your input ThirdLeft152. Btw, where do you guys get your info on all the new stuff coming out? :D

Also, I was getting this PC assembled.. and it was costing me around 2.5 K or so. I guess I'd have to go through a few guides and pick up a few more tips before I can assemble one on my own. Where do I get my parts shipped from? Is there any reliable company for PC parts, that you all prefer the most? :bald:

What I plan to do now is read a guide and assembe my own PC. I don't see any point in wasting 500+ $'s which could have been spent elsewhere. Knowhow + Money = Win.

But for that I need the basic info.. where do I start though? :( Also how long does it take for a newbie to pick up all this and build his own PC? About 5 months.. ? More?

Just to be on the safe side, I'll still go with this rig though. Since CAL is coming up and I desperately do need a new PC. :<

that depends on you... most people it's a matter of a couple of weeks at most and they are wanting to OC! LOL building it is no problem. It all pretty much "stick and click" type of setup. the "difficult" part can be the loading of the OS and software. Which BTW... I'm assuming you already have, cause I didn't see an OS listed.

and even the loading of all the osftware is still easy... just tries your patience most of the time... waiting... and waiting... and waiting... :p
