My problem is, after turing on the computer, internet explorer will work fine for a while (sometimes 5-10min) but after closing and trying to re-open internet explorer, my computer freezes. I am occasionaly able to open the task manager and close iexplorer.exe under the processes menu. But I then notice iexplorer.exe is using about 90% of cpu. Another item I notice is svchost.exe uses up to 70%cpu and fluctuates with the iexplorer.exe process. I have repaired windows, reinstalled the Winsocks, ran antiviruses (found 3 trojans and removed them), ran Hijackthis (which leaves me about 15 messages about missing files), and also run Adaware multiple times. Help!
I am currently running Windows XP 64 edition.
IE 6 and more recently IE7 (which has not solved the problem)
