Well, after searching for a new prebuilt computer, I got discouraged, and couldn't find anything I liked. I came across these forums, and reading more and more, I was convinced I should just build my own. I'm noob when it comes to hardware, but it was definately easier than I thought.

All stock settings.

Thermaltake Mozart
2.93 conroe
Evga 680i MB
Evga 8800gtx
2g Corsair 800mhz
150g 10k raptor
Hauppauge Tv Tuner
850w Enermax psu

I plan to get a Zalmon cpu heatsink/fan, corsair mem fans, and a plextor SATA burner to complete it.

Future plans - 1 more 8800gtx and a 30" dell. 30" dells only $1200 now, where it used to be $2200...

That is a nice pc, but you say you want to build one but whats up with the photos...is that the pc that your going to buy or already have???

The parts list looks great, but you shouldn't need that much power...a OZC gameXstream 700w or even a 600w would be plenty of power. Im guessing the 2.93 conroe is a x6800 which is a waste of money since you can get a e6600 to 3.3ghz an a zalman 9500 easy (check my sig) and the more extreme overclockers are getting to 3.6+ ghz even on air, so the x6800 is a waste of money. But if you insist on paying that much for processor then i would just push for the qx6700 or just save that money for something else and get the e6600.

Yea, I built it already :p I want to add another video card and possible some other items later, so the extra power might come in handy. I hear what your saying about the processor, but im no over clocker.
I didnt want to get the quadcore, cause I read that its not as fast as the dual core for todays programs. Most programs only utilize one core, and possibly two. I think the quad would be a waste. Ill wait till they come out with 4 cores on one die with higher clock speeds. I could over clock with this setup, as it supports 10 120mm fans and 1 80mm, so I could probably get away with just air cooling. Might think about that later.

oh i see what your saying now...sry i was just confused and thought you were going to buy those parts and build it. Since you got the x6800, you really need to overclock it since im beating you with my e6600 with a $600 difference :p. I imagine you could get that thing to 4.2ghz easy on a zalman 9500. If your really not considering ocing it then the after market hsf is a waste. The memory fans are a waste too since the x6800 has a unlocked multiplier. The xms ddr2 800 should be able to oc to ddr2 1000 with the d9 chips w/o those mem fans and be prefectly stable. Again you really need to oc that rig with all that hardware.

I wouldn't get another 8800gtx for a while. There is nothing out that can even come close to stressing two of those cards. I would say two 8800gtx is a waste of money until crysis comes out.

:( I am so envious. What case is that, you say 10 fans? I want to check it out.

I would just read some on oc'ing, that 6800 would just love it:)

Its a thermaltake mozart case. Its pretty big tower case. My old case was small and everything was squished in there, so I wanted a huge case with lots of open space.

Yea, the mobo's made for oc'ing too. Ill try and read up on how to do it. I don't want to fry anything, being I've never tried it before. I just glad I didn't break anything :) I was so unsure whether I could even get it running lol.
