I currently got the Nvidia Geforce fx5200 payed about 30-40 dollars extra on my computer to get the video card but i realize it does not have dvi. is dvi need or is vga just fine for gaming?

vga is fine but dvi is better quality.

Although DVI is the newer technology, you won't be able to tell the difference between the two.
