I have a gforce fx 5200 in my pc and when i turn the pc on i it makes a loud niose which seems to be the fan but after it all loads up it gets quiter. is this a problem or something (I Only got it for £40).
It might be a fan that is going bad or the bearings in the fan may need to get warm before it gets quiet. I would either RMA the card or watch it and make sure the fan continues to run.
i had the same problem with a New Maddog FX 5200 .The noise was intermitent .When it made the noise i would flick the corner of the board and it would go away . I took it back and got a new 1 and its never happend sense.The fan spins pretty fast so to much clearance in the fan shaft housing would cause a vibration.
