Hey, my friend has an SP1 cd-key (legally), but he lost his CD. Would my SP2 CD work with his cd-key?

yes it will, esp if it's that same version of windows like home basic or oem

service packs has nothing to do with what keys recognize what disc. the different version of windows determines that. there are at least 30 different versions of windows xp
