W2k DNS problem

I installed DNS + AD in w2k server ... It seems everything working find. So I have used another machine which have a new installed W2K PRO in it. It was success for me to logon to the dns server. But unfortureally I was unable to logon with Windows xp pro

When I try to add that doimain
error :
damain controller for the domain blah could not be connected




An error occurred when DNS was queried for the service location(SRV_ resource record used to locate a domain controller for doamin blah.blah

the error was:" No records found for given DNS query"
(error code 0x0000251D DNS_INFO_NO_RECORDS)

The query was for he SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.blah.blah

Do you have dynamic DNS enabled? Also what happens if you try to join the domain with the FQDN? So if for example your domain name is DOMAIN and the the FQDN is DOMAIN.local have you tried to join with DOMAIN.local?

I remember when I first got on the network side and someone said, whats the FQDN and I said what? **** I dont know..I felt like an idiot

fully qualified domain name (or FQDN)
