I had this problem on a previous install of windows XP PRO
I just installed last night to my sata drive because my others failed.
So Im updated with every bit of software I have.
But lo and behold when I setup a network it swears I have ICS and puts up the Internet gateway. I tried uninstalling it from the control panel but everytime I do network setup, BEFORE I can choose that I dont use ICS, just a hub, it installs it.
I thought having the network setup was the key to keeping the firewall on. but now its not again.
my LAN connection will not stay firewalled. everytime I restart I have to go to firewall options, and click off, ok, then on and apply. No idea what to do... it says its firewalled in the first place but shows that its not in network connections
I use norton 2003 - its all up to date. windows defender shows clean...
Any info is greatly appreciated.
