So RAM speed doesn't matter if not OC'ing?

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of building a new C2D computer. If I do not plan to overclock, I know I can def. save some money in the mobo and memory department. True, right?

Also, my friend just built a C2D system with some DDR2 800 speed RAM. I read somewhere RAM is RAM, cheap or expensive they will perform the same as long as you don't overclock. Is this true also?

Thanks,
Dan

Somewhat true; DDR2 800 RAM will only provide a 4% difference tops over DDR2 667 RAM (If you're not overclocking.), which isn't very noticeable in real world situations.
