I don't know the impact of GHz on 2 core CPUs...

I have to have a build payload by later this afternoon, so unfortunately I can't look into this too much right now.

I am upgrading vid card from my AGP Raedon 9700 (I didn't notice the PCI Express wasn't a AGP slot... *feels stupid*) to a ATI Radeon X1600 Pro...
So I apologize to anyone for getting them confused.

Go for the Core 2 Duo, it's dual core and will destroy the Athlon in anything. The graphics card will be a nice upgrade and definetly look into getting a new power supply. The one that comes with the case is a piece of garbage and if it dies you risk frying other parts of your computer. I second Ste's reccomendation.
