I'm using my Hiper 580w PSU, and existing hard drives and DVD burner. What do you think of my choices and what else will I need for a decent gaming rig? A HSF for the CPU I guess, can you recommend one?

i have a couple suggestions..

that case doesnt look to good to me (looks cheap) try and get a Cooler Master Centurion they are great cases and ar cheap

go with the Core 2 E6300 instead and use the extra money to get a 7900GT or possibly a 7950GT

if your not going to overclock then i would suggest getting a Gigabyte S3 its practically the same board as that but its cheaper

and for a HSF Scyth Ninja FTW

7900GS is based of the G71 Core. 7900GS IS a 7900GT, Same PCB design, different clocks.

7950 GT Isn't needed.

My 7900GT play's EVERYTHING max settings 1680 1050


And I disagree downgrading to an E6300.


Cheaper, Better brand name, same speed, ram that I linked and then an E6600 is a much better choice.


I agree with you on HSF. It's excellent, specially when you replace the 120 MM fan with a high end one.
