What software/driver to install for ext HD

I just bought an external hard drive Western Digital 250GB. When I plug into USB port on my Dell Server PowerEdge 2600 (Windows 2000). It doesn't recognize the drive. I put in the 80GB, it works.

What driver or anything that I need to install for it to work?
Given that the WD 250GB is not defective, it works on other PCs.

Try updating your USB Mass Storage drivers. Did it come with any software? What model is it?

It comes without any software. instructions say will automatically recognize by computer.

since it's window 2000 you might need to find a driver for it

try this. it a driver cd for a maxtor usb drive. however I used this cd to install drivers for another different usb hdd on a windows 98 machine. it's an image file. use nero or alcohol to burn it as an image file
