Hi,

Just bought new HD to keep my data, SATA II SAMSUNG 250GB 8mb.

I try to connect it to SATA 2 ( Already got an HD connected SATA 1...) .After connected and reboot , the system recognize my HDD ,

but when I try to find it from windown exploere . it doesnt show up ...

but in device manager i saw the HD is there

Go to START-->Run and enter "diskmgmt.msc" to enter the Disk Manager.

If you see the drive in the list of devices, check to see if it has been formated. Also, make sure its assigned drive letter doesn't conflict with a pre-existing drive letter. This can cause the drive to be hidden and thus not show up in Explorer and applications.

its an sata drive, there is no master or slave. DO what shoobie rat said, format it and give it a letter that no other devices currently on your computer are using. Then it should be recognized in my computer

Yeah, like they said above, Serial-ATA drives don't run in a "stack" like IDE drives. There's no master or slave determiner. Why SATA drives still have the jumpers on the back, I can't remember, but don't use them.
