I have windows xp with sp2, and I keep getting this annoying message on start up. execution cannot continue as the language dependent resource file C:program files/microsoft sql server/80/tools/binn/resources/1033/sql svc.rll
I click ok and the computer works fine.
How can I correct the problem?

hmm try going to control panel then administator tools and choose services.

Do you see any microsoft SQL server in the list of SQL server? if so right click it and change its startup type to manual. Then reboot your pc and see if it still appears.

Looks like your installation of SQL server either never completed, or is corrupted. You can try like baron suggested, or run a reinstall of SQL.

Thanks anyway guys.
I resolved it.
I went to control panel- add and remove, and found something that was part of an old software and it mentioned SQL in the name. I removed it and all is well. Thanks again for your effort
