fan speed 7900gt problems

i dont know if this belongs here but i have a gainward 7900gt ,, it comes pre OCed so the fan is spinning quiet fast, i have tried using rivatuner and expert tool to slow it down but they dont have any effect,, the temps are ojnly at 50 idle so i know i can lower the 2D fan speed safely enough,,so does anyone know what would get the fan speeds to lower,, any help would be apreciated

50*c idle isnt that cool, you would want the fan on pretty high if it was that hot. The other way to try and do it is through coolbits, although Rivatuner should work :s.

riva tuner had no effect, i thought gfx cards were designed to run at pretty high temps, 50 to me seemed normal enough, its stayed at that even when gaming
