Thought I could at least choose the parts I wanted for my build, but I keep going over. My Budget is $1600 for EVERYTHING (including mouse, keyboard, os, etc...except for speakers) I also need a good gaming monitor to be included in price.

This computer is for gaming...Thanks in advance!

1173 without shipping... so that gives you room to play with.

yeah, 7950 GX2 is no-longer the king of graphics cards (though actually, it's more like two graphics cards)

I'd say go for the 8800 GTX

(no, you don't need Vista and DirectX 10 to run it. but it means you have that option)

no one here mentioned a gx2 ;) .... lol, and would a gtx fit in the budget with shipping?

very true... its a large leap from 8800gts to gtx.. i too would go with the gtx if it'll fit.. if not.. then try to save a lil more cash.. its worth it

I'd personally get the GTS.
unlike the 6000 and 7000 series, the second model (GTS) has lost more than clock speeds and video memory; it also has 96 shaders instead of 128

1600 Huh, I can make a monster gamer out of 1600. lets see how i'd spend it.

Keyboard is up to you since its just a keyboard

Total Price- $1,373.89

Leaves you plenty enough room for shipping keyboard and any extras. An 8800GTS can be fit in there if you want to downgrade your CPU to just an E6300. Also everything i added will make your C2D an overclocking machine if you want to go with E6300. The E6600 will not give you nearly as many FPS extra over the E6300 compared to an 8800GTS over another video card. While the 7950GT is an awesome card you might just want to do that.

Also if you take a little time you could OC the E6300 with those parts to pretty high, to where it would beat a stock E6600 easily. Then again these are just suggestions and you can pick whatever you want.

have fun~ I only had 850 to go on with this christmas (not including monitor keyboard and mouse)
