I got a new motherboard (ASUS A7V8X-X KT400) and processor (AMD 2600+). When i turned the computer on it went into bios and gave me a warning saying that for the selected cpu core frequency (1917 mhz) i needed to have 333 mhz ram installed. However i have 266 Mhz ram installed. Will any hardware damage occure or will it simply run slower?

No, as a matter of fact, some people underclock to increase stability and or product life.

Hold up, so if you're running ram with a slower fsb than the processor, it can be unstable? Please respond back.
