I'm having trouble deciding which laptop I should purchase. I've found a couple of good offers from newegg and I was hoping I could get some advice on which will be the best bang for the buck. I'm a college student soon to graduate and I need a computer that I can use for work, but I would also like for it to be able to handle some computer games. Also, my budget is $1000 to $1300.

Here's a link showing the specs of the three I'm looking at:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductCompare.asp?Category=26&Nty=1&N=2030260032+4023&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=32&CompareItemList=N82E16834115291%2CN82E16834147305%2CN82E16834224054[/url]

If that doenst work, my basic question is which processor/ram combination would be more effective

1)Intel Core duo 1.6 GHz, 1GB DDR2, 160GB memory and an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400
2)Intel Core Duo 2 1.66 GHz, 2 GB DDR2, 160GB memory and NVidia GeForce Go 7300
3)AMD Turion64 MT-37 2.0 GHz, 1 GB DD2, 120GB memory and ATI Mobility Radeon x700.

Thanks for any input!

2 will be best. Can't see prices (link doesn't work), but 3 is probly best bang.

3 wouldn't be best bang. Core Duo > Turion and everyone knows it. Number 2 would be the best bang, as long as you aren't playing games.

Thanks for the advice...I do want to use this laptop for gaming though, so which one of the three would be best for that?

Number 3 I would say, the extra gig of ram would make up for the slower video card.

Either way, all three will be pretty slow at gaming, depending on what games you want to play. They all have relatively weak video cards.

This is true, unfortunately its about as good as it will get form my price range ($1000-1250)
