Need advice on DDR2 for ASUS P5B Deluxe

Im looking for 2gb of DDR2, I do mainly gaming but do use photoshop and other apps.
What would be some good ram for the mobo, Ive heard its a little picky when it comes to ram? Is the latency (CAS) the main factor when buying ram or the bus speed?
BTW, I do not overclock, and dont intend to. I dont want to go crazy money wise, looking to spend around $250 bucks.

I dont think the mobo is *that* picky when it comes to RAM. You will have to set the timings in the bios though.

I would go for a CAS4 set instead of a CAS5 - like this set:

Maybe it was just a bad stick or something.

I dont know why it wouldnt be compatible. Contact ASUS and see what they recommend - though their recommendation list is probably only limited to Corsair (cause thats the only memory they bothered testing it on).

Well I got some Corsair XMS pc-6400 last night and build the new system.
**** its fast I can really tell the difference, so im happy

Yes that is the same I bought, great ram and worked no problem.

ASUS is picky and does like corsair, but others may work as well.
