what heatsink to go with?

im gonna go with the gigabyte DS3 MOBO and C2D cpu and im not sure what kinda heatsink comes with the chip, did you guys use the packaged one or upgrade to something bigger?

If you want a silent pc or to overclock the CPU, go with a new cooler.

I used the packaged one but im also not overclocking , it also feels like your going to break the mobo when you put it in.

Also the DS3 mobo starts and stops a lot when you first power it up its normal! check the manual

I am a personal fan of the Scythe Samurai Z. It is about 30 bucks, and it is small as well. It cools adequately, fits any modern socket, and is dead silent.

Just be careful with the fins, they bend easily.

the scythe ninja (fanless) is also very silent.. literally silent... lol
