nVidia GeForce 7900GTX? 7950GTX?

Do you guys think the 7950 GTX is worth the extra $80 USD ?

Will the 7900GTX still run games on high settings?

No such thing as a 7950GTX. There is the 7950GT, which replaces the 7900GTX because it has the same performance. Except it costs like $260.

There is the 7950GX2. It is the best of the GeForce 7s, but it costs about $200 more than the second-highest videocard (which is the 7950GT).

So you really have to ask yourself...is the 7950GX2 worth $200 more than the 7950GT? My opinion? No.

If you can pay more money then go with geforce go 7950GTX, but I don't think there is huge difference between 7950GTX and 7900GTX.

Also, I don't think that you will die if pay $80 more. So, personally I say go with 7950GTX

The 7950 gets a little higher score in 3dmark06. Don't know how reliable it is though.

I don't know why this would be though because all the specs on the gtx are tab bit higher then the 7950.

Those would be under the GeForce Go series if the cards were for laptops.

Also, the 7950GTX card scores a good amount of 3dmark06s over its 7900GTX counterpart.

Ya, the $80 is not that much, but my parents (who are buying it for me)

say no more that is my limit, but I was thinking that I could go down to

the 7900GTX and upgrade to 1900X1200 Resolution on the screen

instead of 1680X1050...

Not true, the 7900GTX is faster than 7950GT

Not by much. Its a 50Mhz core and a 150Mhz memory overclock and it's there. That may sound like a lot for other cards, but the 7950GT is cool as a cucumber and reaches speeds of 750/1800 (7900GTX is 650/1600) without any problem. Since the hardware on both cards is the same, the 7950GT and 7900GTX would perform the same at the same clockspeeds. Not a bad deal for $260.

Also I was wondering if I should get RAID 0 or RAID 1 or nothing at all?

What exactly do they do, and why are they all free?
