Right now i have a HP with upgraded ram (from 512 to 1gb) and a better graphics card (Radeon x1300) and it's really not that bad but i want to build my own computer just for gaming.

First things first... does this list look good or is there anything wrong with it?

The mobo supports up to 4gb of ram but im just going to put 2gb in it. Also, do you think i would need the upgraded power supply (550w) or would the one in the case be sufficient (400w)?

I'm trying to keep it to a budget build as best as i can but i want things to run good so i'm not going to skimp out either. The only thing that kills me is the price of 2gb ram so it was the best i could find (there are others on newegg but they arent in stock).

Is there anything different i should be looking at or changing?

you can also leave the soundcard and use the onboard sound because you arent going with a very big sound system

i would go with what maroon suggested....you will see much more power per price. The x-230's are good budget speakers if you don't have room for a 5.1 system. The z-2300 are awesome if you want to be able to shake the house without putting down alot of money on speakers, but if your on a tight budget, stick with the x-230's.
