I posted earlier that i had someone that wanted me to help him build a computer, mainly to play battlefield 2. What he has in mind is a single core at like 3 ghz.

Since i am new to building pcs and such, can someone please help me with a question that he asked me?

He asked me wouldnt it be better to play games at single core if he does not plan on multi tasking..just to have one beast processor rather than 2 smaller ones. He was looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103526 .

Is a dual core better for gaming or just multi tasking?

Wow, i am suprised on how fast i am getting responses tonight.

You seem to be confused by dual core technology. Having a dual core doesn't mean the 2 cores are at slower frequencies and then crammed together. Dual cores are 2 decent/amazing cores put together on one die.
