i guess the GDDR3 makes a big difference?

anyway, i like ATI too, my 9800pro is still standing ok and its been over 3 years.

but i want stuff to run fastttttttt.

but i will say, i think the nvida cards look like "more bang for the buck"

EDIT: oh yea, the memory clock is 1.4Ghz also
 
Yeah, that 7600 is a beast. You will definitely get more bang for the buck out of it. I am an ATI guy, but Nvidia completely dominates the mid-range market.
 
really....i had a althon 3200+ with a 9600xt like two months ago and i could play oblivion on mid settings.

Best bet is don't waste that money on slightly better old technology. Save it up and upgrade....i would say once you have $1000 you can get a nice computer (w/o monitor, speakers, mouse but i assume you already have some you can use). If you really can't wait then go for the 7600gs or 1650 dexaroni suggested.
