ATI x1900 series versus Nvidia's 7900 cards

1280x1024 is actually my maximum resolution on my monitor, which I happened to get for free, courtesy of sympatico's deal they had going on haha.

I'd say the X1950XT is the one I'm going for right now unless someone can change my mind lol.

Why don't you get 8800GTS ?

It is about the same price as X1950xtx and it supports DX10

8800GTS and GTX are out of the question, after taxes and shipping it is WAY out of my price range, in canadian it will end up being 750 or up, and I'm not willing to spend that kind of money right now, I'm lucky I'm even able to afford all this with having to save for college too haha.

the 7900 GT voltmods also work with 7950 GT's
except 7950 GT's run at 1.35V stock in performance 3d mode

The only thing i could suggest is maybe the silent 7950 by XFX, otherwise if noise isn't a problem(and i don't know how much noise x1950's make) than x1950 all the way.
