multi-threading CPU's

They have multiple cores for each thread to run on at once, instead of having to time splice like single cores. I assume this is what you are asking...

go to intel actually dual core is better than HT.i can't seem to findthe vid anymore but take it this way HT uses one core to "try" and perform operations in parallel although it can a little it is way slower than two actual cores. so HT kinda sux if you look at it kinda like the Pentium D(it was basically a dual P4 Extrem edition with the HT turned off, whereas the P4Xtreme had two cores with HT enabled on both, and the pentium D is just the same except with the HT turned off)

thanks for the reply

in the single core processor category, how are some processors better at multi-threading?

P4 is kinda good at multitasking with HT but.... you need to have programs that support HT otherwise it's slower then a full HT compatible program

thanks for the reply

are there any programming languages which are better at supporting HT?
