BIOS updating

This is an unusual request for help.

I have Asus A8N-SLI motherboard and up until yesterday the BIOS rev was 1016
and I had no problems. Looked on the Asus site and found there was an update
to 1805 beta.

I installed this latest version using the updater and the BIOS was duly installed on the CMOS.

Xpro/SP2 and all programs ran OK but in BIOS setup I cannot find "boot from keyboard or space bar" which existed in 1016

So I tried to return to 1016 but this cannot be done using the updater. I have emailed Asus but have no reply, so you geniuses please helt a 73 year old geriatric

Did you happen to back it up before installing the new one?

Why do you need the "boot from keyboard"?

Yes, I did back it up. But it will not re-install with this comment:
"The BIOS inage can't use use in this motherboard (The EEPROM Type IncompatibleL"

Why do I want it. Well because I have always had it - like losing one's wife!
