$800-$1000 Budget Gaming Rig

Ok guys, here's what I want:

I want a high end gaming rig for a tight budget of $800-$1000. Also, I'm not having the case added in that price so don't worry about the case. My thinking is getting a Core Duo CPU with an Nvidia GPU, like a 7900GT. Would a 2GB of memory would be okay.

Any responses would be appreciated.

yours lags on oblvion???? wow. I see guys with regular 7900gt's playing oblivion on high settings with hdr lighting on.

You guys sound as if you are trying to build a system to run "Crysis" man I have been looking at the specs posted and it doesn't seem to bad to me, that if you are planing to run Direct X 10 now that would be another story. But fail to see why Oblivion won't work on those systems without lagging please explain cause I am quite curious.

are you looking at MINIMUM system requirements?? even recomended still won't enable you to play with all settings maxed.
