I need some help finding a good home projector for about 1400 to 1500 dollars, any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't really know what to look for, haha.

Mitsubishi HD1000U Projector

1500 ANSI (the brightness....)
720P (720 lines of vertical lines, in progressive mode, meaning the picture is projected frame by frame and not interlaced which is partial projection updates)

Avg Street price $1,495 for a decently bright project that supports HD.
Nice.

thanks for that post,

is it better to have the lumens and the contrast ratio high? and for what reason?

because the TOSHIBA TDP-T100U 1024x768 DLP has 2700 lumens, which is almost double the Mitsubishi one. so i am confused

sorry for the questions, haha.

also what is a good screen material?
I have been looking at EliteScreens VMAX screens, are they good?

anything will work, as long as its flat, non reflective, and is pure white. like say you can paint a wall in your house primer white, and get it so its completely flat(no drywall bumps). there are even some "blackout blinds" you can get from home depot, for windows, they can get as big as 7 feet wide and 6 feet tall. but any projector screen should be tolerable as long as its made of a good, sturdy material.
