I have a client that keeps getting an error message. He has ran Ad-aware, norton scan, and a Trendmicro scan. Both virus scans came up with nothing and I cant seem to find anything on the intertnet about his error. Here is the error message he keeps getting.

Title Block: Win Min: IEengine.exe - Corrupt File

Message: The file or directory \DocumentsandSettings\AllUsers\StartMenu\Programs\StartUp\winlogon.exe is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk Utility.

He has ran Chkdsk and it dosnt fix his problem.

Try removing that file from the startup folder, it doesn't need to be there in order for windows to boot properly.

You don't have to delete the file, just take it out of the start up folder. Once done, reboot and let us know how things go.

HoloCron, I don't think it's part of the start up group. If you look in the path, it's merely located in the "Start Menu".

this should be where it gets put
delete it stop the process if you need to

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEengine.exe

i betting that wont be the only file that he needs to delete
