I'm planning on getting a external jump/flash drive to hold pictures and files, for the next couple of years. I am an avid photographer and I have hundreds of photos on my computer. What size drive should I get for my pictures and files? I'd estimate I have over 700 photos and about 100 files.

2 and 4 gig drives are dirt cheap one newegg, may as well go for the gusto. if you're serious about that many pictures i'd recomend that size anyways.

i wouldn't reccomend a flash drive for a photographer. chances are you'll exceed it's read/write cycle count and it'll die. i'm guessing you will constantly be accessing or writing lots of files which isn't good for the life time of flash memory. get an external hdd such as one based on a laptop hdd which is small enough for a pocket and can be powered by USB. Seagate has a nice small portable hdd that is about 5gb which isn't too expensive.
