I have an ATI x800xt all-in-wonder and last night I was playing Need For Speed Carbon and I noticed my gpu temp was up to 100 degrees celcius and then my comp turned off. How hot should my card be getting? Should I get an aftermarket cooler?

Well I think it should not go above ~70 deg. celsius.

I know this is kinda off of your topic but what program are you using to monitor temps in game?

everest all-in-one.

when i touch the heat-sink on the video card,
it burns me. so i`m pretty sure that the temp readings are right.

Yeah, it should never get that hot. You do realize that 100C is boiling?

Make sure it is clear of dust, the fan is spinning properly, etc. If this doesn't help anything you may want an aftermarket cooler. How hot are the rest of your components?

my processor runs at atleast 60 degrees celcius while i`m playing games.

its an athalon xp
overclocked from 1.8 to 2.4ghz.

Keep in mind that the cool gel or better known as glue under the CPU can easily evaporate because of the heat.
