OCing GPU not really showing improvement?

During a 3DMark test, if it freezes once during one of the game demos, but runs fine through the rest....is that good? I was also playing around and I found that the mem clocks can not go anywhere above 1700mhz. I managed to get the core to 630 and 640. What I found out is kinda weird. 06 got to its highest at 640, 05 got to its highest at 630, and 03 has the highest score at 615. Why?

well if your memory can't go any higher, your gonna have to start using a new program if you want it to go higher.. i ran into that problem with my voltmodded 7900 gt.. it was maxed at 1800... but with ati tool (i think that was it) i was able to take it up to 2000

who needs gddr4 for 2000mhz speeds!!

aww I can't use ati tool. What other good programs are there for OCing nvidia cards?

EDIT: I just downloaded ati tool and it says no nvidia card detected....most functions deactivated. Which version did you use for nvidia cards? Right now I'm running the artifact scanner. How long am I suppose to let it run? So far no errors for 5 mins.

Valueselect isn't that bad, you'll probably get around 30MHz out of it so you'll get around 2.7. Use ATI tool beta:

If I can squeeze 30MHz out of the 3700+, will I have to change any settings on the ram, like timings and stuff? The specs are:

Speed DDR 400 (PC 3200)
Cas Latency 2.5
Voltage 2.5V

No I mean 30MHz out of the ram. 230*12=2.76GHz.

I do not get this at all. If someone can explain why OCing the CPU from 2.2GHz to 2.3GHz, with the 7600GT OC to 630/1700, would get me lower scores on 3DMarks.

...not significant drops but still a drop. I was comparing the benchmarks and the one OCed to 2.3GHz only showed improvement on CPU score and tests, obviously. So what happened here? But I did notice a little improvement on the FPS. With the 100MHz OC of the CPU, I noticed the frames are slightly running smoother.
