Help with making a decision on what to buy...

Hello everyone...

I currently have a custom built PC with the following specs:

160 GB HD
3.0 GHz Intel P 4 Processor
2 DVD Drives
XFX GeForce 6800 Xtreme Graphics Card
1 GB PQI Turbo RAM

Anyway, to my question. I was wondering if anyone had some input on whether or not I should buy another Gig of RAM, or get another graphics card to run SLI... I do play games like HL2, NFS:C, Madden, Prince of Persia, etc.

uhh, to upgrade, well yea nother gig of ram, but if you want some serious preformance, get a C2D system, or a high end amd, or for the low end of the spectrum, an amd 3800+ which roughly = a 3.8ghz p4

and if you odnt have a sli mobo, you cant run sli

I have an SLI mobo, so i can run it. Besides, all i wanted to know is if i should get another gig of ram or another graphics card, not stuff about an amd system which i cant have b/c i have intel mobo.

yea, i was just making a suggestion. yea, go head and get another gig of ram, and another gpu, but if u get another gig of ram, if you arent runnin in ddr now, if u do, it will run faster, and same with sli. personally id go with the display first, since 1gb is pretty good

Yeah i have 2*512 mb sticks of ram in dual channel, and i know my card will be outdated soon enough, i just don't know which one i should get.

well, maybe you should get a 8800, theyre new, and pretty bad @$$. or if u cant afford it, get a 7900GT, and 2gb of ram(2 1gb sticks)

lol, i say dont get an other 6800xt, go for a eVGA 7900GS for $185 on newegg, and another 2*512 sticks of ram, you should be good. The 7900gs is $165 after mail in reabtes too.

I just re read you first post though, if I had to pick between the two, I'd get the 7900GS, because 1 gig ram is pretty good, but the 6800xt isn't.
