Theres always hope. Stability will be an issue unless all Prebuilt parts are replaced.

yea, ram, mobo, and in some cases the cpu.
yea dude, just get some ddr400 and you might beable to oc about .2ghz more

but a 2.7ghz oc is pretty **** good(o nvm, i thought it was an amd)
get a new cpu, maybe an 64 3800+ and a new mobo, probably some ddr400 ram too

alright.i just change a cpu chip and its default is at 2.66GHz.i set my clock frequency to 145 and it booted once to windows.and i check everest and it is running at 2.9GHz.i restart my system and it got hang at the loading screen.what could be the problem?

Overclocking is a slow process, clear CMOS and start Over, 2 Mhz ever 2 days use prime 95 and or OCCT to test stability then repeat process.

If your running that ram at 2-2-2-5 timmings, you should definetly loosen them. I'm not even sure how you got them that tight but that might help your overclock.
