^yea but for the same price you could get an ATI X850 or 1950PRO which i think out performs the 7600/7900gs

7600GT performs as good as X850xt, the 7600GT is better than X850xt in some games, and vice versa. But that advantage of 7600GT over X850xt is that it support SM3.0, it consume less power, and more overclockabe. Also, if you look at newegg you will see that 7600GT is cheaper than X850xt.

X1950PRO performs better than 7900gs but not by a lot. But if you look at newegg you will see that the price of 7900GS is less than X1950pro

im on newegg right now and i see that the x850xt is actullay 5 bucks less then the 7600gt

and the 7900gs is 10 bucks less than the 19050pro but for the 10 bucks you get better performance and oc ability

Unless nvidia finds a way to get 512-bit DDR4 memory that the R600 has to put on their "8900" on a chip 80nm or below in three months I'm not sure they can pull it off. That would be a big feat to do in that short of time; but for all I know the G80 as of now will be better than R600 (which btw I highly doubt).

this whole post has turned into another fanboy war. it is comparing two different gen cards and the R600 isnt even close to coming out so how can any of you argue? we will find out once both cards are availible!

r600 is due jan/feb... that is close if you ask me... and i don't think nvidia will already have a revision in 3 months.. the 7900's didnt come out until like a year later... so quit your whining people the comparison will be r600 to g80.... its not going to be g81, r600... then it will be g81 r650+ or whatever its going to be.... base to base, revision to revision.... 7800gtx to x1900xtx, 7900gtx to x1950xtx

and where is this g80 now????? its the 8th and still not out... looks like we're gonna have to wait again... its the conroe all over again!!! lol

they have an X850 for 125 its just not in stock make sure you look all the way down the page next time

eVGA 7600GT is till cheaper, and why should I compare the price of 7600GT with a card that is not in stock ?

Even if the X850xt and 7600GT were the same price, the 7600GT will still be a better choice.

well that your opinion i still think the X850 slays the 7600 in games.

im not an ati or nvidia fanboy just whichever card is better i like more, simple as that
