computer shuts down

Hello everyone, my problem is that my computer shuts down when i start up a game ,ie bf2142, it may run for a bit and sometimes just a few seconds. but only on games, any other application is fine. Any help?

check ur ram or processor aint overheating

that used to happen to me, my problem was my powersupply could not deliver the powere required by the video card. i would assume that since u mention bf2142 you have a power hungry video card. some of them require secondary power directly from the power supply. I do not know what cpu you use so i will give you an estimate. Intel P4 = 550W of powersupply. AMD = 450W of powersupply. Unless you running intel Core 2 then a 450W will work.
