Need Help choosing mobo and processor

Since im not getting a reply on maximum pc i will post it here.

Alrite i need help on choosing my mobo i would like to sli in the future so thats a must have with the mobo. Now on the processor i would like a newer technology one then my pentium d, I will go with amd or intel. My budget is about $500 for mobo and processor.

P.S. Im not a overclocker i have never messed with it.

not really sure on the mobo cause i never research sli boards cause i never buy them. I think the chipset only supports dd2 667 so i hope u dont have ddr2 800 ram.

i dig the processor but the board doesnt support SLI

I think you should wait for some NForce 600 series chipset boards to be released this month if you truly want a Conroe and SLI.

no, i believe it should work. im pretty sure the default fsb of that processor is 266mhz(someone correct me if im wrong), therefore, the multiplier should be x9 which would make 2.4ghz(the stock speed of the processor).

so ur ram should be fine

that memory will work.

but since your going core 2 i would definatly upgrade your ram to atleast 667 and upgrading to a gig would also be a good idea
