graphics card issues

I have a 500 watt antec smartpower 2.0, and i was wondering if i could use a ati radeon x1900xtx with it? every time i play a high end game my graphics card fan stops spinning and it overheats in minutes. I was going to send my card in to ati, but i wanted to know if this was a power supply issue.

That powersupply will not power that card well for a long time. Many have died running with the same card.

So what power supply would you suggest? and even though the supply cant run the card for very long, would it really mess up when i only had the supply for less than a month/ the card was really overheating, im waiting for a response from ati but do u think this powersupply could really mess up that quick?
