Dvd Rom/+rw Drive

Hi
I have a compac peserio,with dvd rom,&rw drive,most of the time while trying to run a cd/dvd by clicking the drive in my computer it says drive inacceble.but if i restart the computer with the disc in the drive ,then i can play a disc,what could be the problem

You might try updating the firmware which can be found on the manufacturer's website. Go to the support page then click on downloads and drivers then type in your model number. The next screen will ask you to pick the operating system you have on you system. Once you have done this the next screen will show all the drivers and updates for your system. Look for the firmware update for your drive and download and install it. See if this helps.
