Anyone heard from AMD lately (Quad)?

I dunno, i think amd will come back stronger than intel... like amd beat intel to the dual core punch, but intel came back with a better chip... now intel is comming out real fast w/ what they are calling a quad core (i hear its just 2 smushed together c2d's) but amd will prob beat it w/ theirs... thats why i'm waiting for amd's quad before i buy

IT HAS 4 CORES IN ONE SOCKET, THEREFORE IT IS A QUAD CORE.

Its actually two X6800 cores on one chip with a lower multiplier. Its not actually four independent cores on one chip like AMD will release next year.

yeah, but bandwith restricted between both dies. and they can't effectively share L2 cache between the four cores

Intel beat AMD in more ways than one...

yeah, after what... 5 years or so of AMD beating Intel?

I've been reading up on AMD's K8L architecture. I think it's going to be a winner.
