Building a PC for my dad

Hey well a while back i built my computer with the help from u guys here. So i am back wondering whats new out there..

this is what i put in mine and he wants similar/a little better

Ultra 1024MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory

RAIDMAX Astro ATX-268WB Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window

ASUS A8N5X ATX AMD Motherboard

eVGA Geforce 7600GT 256-P2-N553-AX Video Card

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 1GHz HT Socket 939 Processor

He doesnt need a hardrive. i spent about $500 i think on this so around that same price now that there are new things out what can be changed out for better parts?

I'd make the CPU core a Venice, if you aren't already.

whats he want it for? Gaming, processing? depends on what you need for the choice of cpu (i.e. number crunching power, graphics) or do you just want a rounded out pc?

He wants a decent desktop that won't be slow. He wants to be able to do a little of everything like download mp3 and create video of family.

if your doing video editing you'll need something quite a bit stronger..or are they just like family videos or something?

Just family videos really
