I have had a problem pop up lately I have no idea what to do to fix it. A bud online pointed me to these forums so I figure I will give em a try!
I am an avid WOW player. While playing one day the screen went blank (Dark). Hard drive LED was lit, but nothing was happening. Kinda shrugged it off and re-booted. Same thing happens again. So, I dissassemble comp, check all my wires, connections, etc. I decide to flash my CMOS just to be safe and re-boot. Worked fine after. Then I remember, " hey, flashing CMOS resets BIOS to default values". So I run CPUID and sure enough I am running at 100 FSB when it should be 400FSB. I reset the FSB to 400. Again, back it goes to crashing. I figure this must be a CPU issue, So, I go buy a new CPU. Again, crashes. I dont know where to go next or what to check. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
System Specs:
AMD Athlon XP 3200
MSI KT6LSR MoBo ( BIOS is latest Version)
768 mb memory
Sapphire Raedon 9800Pro 128mb
Maxtor UIDE 160gig HD
WD Uide 40gig HD
500 watt PSU ( Cant remember rail values)
19" WS LCD Display Using DVI Input
