ok im building a pc fo my mom... office heavy office no oc no games .... ive been told the gigabyte ds3 i think is one and an asus p5 or sumthing and these boards are like 200 bucks.... none cheaper that are decent... i plan on using a core 2 duo prolly 6300-6400

I just built a Core 2 duo system with an intel DG965RY. It doesn't have raid or over-clocking (which your mom probably doesn't need). It has OK onboard video which works fine for office applications. Intel has a reputation for stable, long-lasting mobos. You can find it for around $100.

well i forgot to add... not going wiht onboard vid... shes going ot get a card just bc she does do some vid stuff and id rather have a card than onboard...

The intel boards have a PCI-e slot if you want to stick in your own card. Just disable onboard video in the BIOS.
